YMC hosted over 50 secondary school students for a three-day coding workshop to give them a thorough exposure to the software engineering field via an exciting range of activities planned for them.
Students had the opportunity to code their own apps using Thunkable and present their apps to their peers and families. They also had the exposure to working in software engineering via their trips to Aptiv and Google. The participants were intrigued as they witnessed the future of self-driving cars at Aptiv and the latest development of technology from Google.
Finally, they also were able to learn more about the different paths and experiences of a software professional through our panelist session with three Malay/Muslim software engineers.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our partners at Google and Aptiv for putting together an exciting engagement for our students, as well as our volunteers, who have put in a lot of hard work to make this workshop a success.
